Management Plan
As part of my classroom management, I ask the students to think of some important rules we should have in the classroom. The students come up with these completely on their own. We discuss why that rule is important and I add it to our "class contract". Once the contract is complete students sign it showing their agreement. When writing these statements, I always try to write them in a positive way.
I use behavior trackers in my classroom. These trackers are used as a whole class incentive. I use a transition tracker, a voice level tracker, a positive attitude tracker, and a quiet line tracker. Each tracker has its own reward that the students have agreed upon.
I also use a choice board in my classroom. When students finish their work they know to choose something to do from the choice board. I switch out the activities and only keep about 5 options in at a time. Implementing a choice board decreases behavior issues.
